Sunday Post 3-12-17: week in review, more changes to blog, and more

Welcome to the Sunday Post 3-12-17!

Sunday Post

It’s been a long time since we have participated in the Sunday Post or had any kind of weekly update.

As some of you know, I am trying to revive features and make the blog better. I’ve had to think a lot about which features to bring back and which ones to kill.

I realized I was biting off more than I could chew at first, and I had to scale back how many different things I was going to do on the blog every week.

I’ve come up with a new schedule that I think will be manageable for me.

Our New Daily Schedule

as available: Writer’s Corner author guest posts, author interviews, blog tours and blitzes, reviews, spotlights with excerpts, cover reveals, etc.

Daily: Featured Book Releases

Our New Weekly Schedule

Sunday: The Sunday Post week in review

Tuesday: Talkin’ ‘Bout Books discussion (part of a monthly discussion link up)

Saturday: Stacking the Shelves books we’ve acquired

Our New Monthly Feature

Books that Hook is Getting a Facelift

There were some other posts that I deleted because I decided not to keep those features.

Sorry we didn’t post much more because I have been trying to get the website looking and working right with a new theme. The previous themes I tried were unstable. I would fix one problem, only to find another. The current theme seems like it will be much better. I just have to start making edits to our old posts to get everything to look right.

Special Note…

We still need more people who would be willing to write reviews. If you love books and would like to contribute reviews to Books That Hook, please let me know.

  1. I also have felt overwhelmed this year with things going up each week. I kind of stalled on my own feature I created, Famous Last Words. It was a lot of work up front that I couldn’t just put together on the fly. I’ve also resurrected a weekly post put on hold due to the host. Good luck with your new schedule! I hope you’re less stressed.

    1. Thanks, Charlie. It’s hard to keep it all going. I understand about how some of them can be a lot of work. It’s like the “Around the Blogosphere” feature I used to do. To scour everyone’s blogs to find the posts I wanted to share took a really long time and it wasn’t something I could set up ahead of time. That’s one feature I am not going to bring back because it was just too much work and too time sensitive.
