Jane Yellowrock has her hands full in the latest novel in the New York Times bestselling series that captures “the essence of urban fantasy” (SF Site).   Slaying vampires is child’s play for skinwalker Jane Yellowrock. But handling the complicated politics of New Orleans’ supernatural players is another story...   Jane is keeping the peace between visiting groups of witches and vamps in the city, but then trouble comes knocking on her doorstep. When her house is magically attacked, the wild chase to find her assailants unearths a mystery that has literally been buried deep.   A missing master vampire, presumed long deceased, is found chained in a pit...undead, raving mad, and in the company of two human bodies. Now it’s up to Jane to find out who kept the vampire hidden for so long and why, because the incident could tip already high supernatural tensions to an all-out arcane war.

Shadow Rites is the tenth novel in the Jane Yellowrock series by Faith Hunter. I read an ARC copy. The book released today.

POV: 1st

Tense: Past

Setting: New Orleans

Sexual Content: Mature

This was an awesome addition to this series. I was captivated to the pages till the end of the book.

Jane is still in New Orleans. This time she and her friends are trying to keep the peace in New Orleans, but the witches aren’t making that an easy task for them. Jane has also been allowing a romantic relationship bloom with a specific guy.

Jane gets attacked with magic and she needs to find out who attacked her and keep her family safe from the evil that is out to see her dead. Jane will do whatever it takes to keep her family safe.

To find out what happens go grab your copy of Shadow Rites.

I give Shadow Rites 5 stars and I highly recommend this series to anyone who is into the paranormal with the Native American twist to it. With every novel in this series Jane is becoming my most favorite character in the series. I love how she is strong and independent but knows when she needs the help of her friends. She is finally finding a place in the world for her and Beast. I love Jane and Molly’s friendship aka family. I can’t wait for the next installment of this series.
